Born Danton, Sylvia Pialat is a French producer and screenwriter. It was during the shooting of the film À nos amours that she met the director Maurice Pialat, when she was only twenty-two years old. Following the production of the film, she became his companion and collaborator. The couple had one child, Antoine Pialat, born in 1991. On the death of her husband, Sylvie Pialat became a producer, setting up Les Films de Worso. Since 2006, she has been president of the Côté court association, which organises the Côté court Festival in Pantin. In 2013, the popular and critical success of Alain Guiraudie's film L'inconnu du lac won her the Prix Toscan-du-Plantier for best producer. In 2015, she produced Abderrahmane Sissako's Oscar-nominated film Timbuktu. She was made an Officer of the Légion d'honneur on 1 January 2018.
